How many acoustic slat panels do I need?
Short answer: for a full wall, divide the wall width in inches by 24 and round up. A 12 ft wall takes 6 panels. If you only want to cut echo, covering 20 to 30% of one large wall already makes a clear difference.
Our panel size
Each Max Media Walls panel is 24 in wide and 9 ft tall (about 18 sq ft), with 1 in slats and ½ in gaps of black acoustic felt. On a standard 8 ft ceiling we trim each panel to height.

Wood finishes. Volume pricing: $109 each for 4 or 5 panels, $99 each for 6 or more. Install is $75 per panel.
Just fixing echo
Echo comes from sound bouncing between hard, parallel surfaces. You don't need to cover everything. Covering 20 to 30% of the largest wall is a good starting point for a living room or office. A 16 ft long wall with an 8 ft ceiling is 128 sq ft, so 20 to 30% is 26 to 38 sq ft: 2 panels.
Rooms with very high ceilings, tile or concrete floors, or lots of glass may need more. A home studio or podcast corner usually wants more coverage still, often on two walls.
Around a TV
Most TV walls we build cover the full width, so the TV sits on wood instead of drywall. A 75 in TV on a 12 ft wall takes 6 panels. If you'd rather keep part of the wall painted, two panels (48 in) floor to ceiling beside the TV is a popular accent.
