Oak, walnut, gray, black or metallic: which slat panel finish?
We sell eight finishes. Here is how to choose without overthinking it: start with the floor, then the light.
The eight finishes
- Oak 2240S: classic natural oak, goes with almost everything
- White Oak 4128S: pale Scandinavian oak, makes rooms feel bigger
- Walnut 230S: our darkest wood, dramatic behind big TVs
- Teak 5410S: warm golden tone with an even grain
- Coastal Gray: light gray that never yellows under lamp light
- PVC Black: matte black with a wipe-clean face
- Brushed Gold and Brushed Silver: brushed-metal statement walls
Every panel is slats on black acoustic felt, so the felt shows as a dark shadow line between the slats in every finish.
Start with the floor
Avoid matching the floor exactly. A wall the same color as the floor reads as one flat block. Go for contrast:
- Light floors (white oak, light tile, polished concrete): Walnut, Teak or Coastal Gray
- Dark floors: Oak or White Oak
- Mid-tone floors: Oak is the safe pick. Walnut if you want drama.
Then the light
Dark finishes soak up light. In a room that gets little daylight, Walnut or PVC Black will make it moodier, which works for a home theater but not for a small bedroom. Bright rooms can carry dark walls easily.
By room
- Living room: Oak or Walnut behind the TV
- Bedroom: White Oak or Coastal Gray behind the bed
- Home theater or media room: Walnut or PVC Black
- Office or podcast corner: Teak or Oak, warm on camera
- Bar, lounge or entryway: Brushed Gold or Brushed Silver on one wall
See them in your own light
Photos never match your room's light. Our $14 sample kit has real 3-slat offcuts of Oak, White Oak, Walnut, Coastal Gray and PVC Black. Hold them against your floor in daylight and at night. The $14 is credited back on your first panel order. For Teak and the metallics, message us on WhatsApp for close-up photos.
